WinMD5 - 82.7K

*MD5SUM is a way to verify the integrity of a download. Using WinMD5, you can verify marked downloads on this site by dragging and dropping the downloaded file(s) over the WinMD5 program. The dragged file(s) MD5SUM must match the one listed here for that particular file. If it does not, it means the file is damaged and must be downloaded again.

The icons are 256 color, Windows 95 / 98 / 98 Second Edition / ME icons. ICL libraries are recognized by Windows. The only difference is, instead of accessing one icon at a time, it shows you multiple icons to choose from on the icon selection screen. In order to view the ICL archives without assigning them, I recommend downloading a small, FREEWARE program called IconShop. It assigns the ICL extention to itself and allows you to double click and view all the icons without any hassle. It's a great program that's definitely worth getting.

If you need help changing icons, read the How To Change Icons information further down the page.

NOTE: You must have a video card that supports 256 colors or higher for these icons to display correctly. If your video card meets or exceeds this requirement, you can do one of the following to make them display correctly:

Windows 98 and 98 Second Edition: Go to Display Properties and select the Effects tab. Next, check the box next to the option that says Show icons using all possible colors. Restart Windows and the new settings will take affect.

Windows 95: Get the FREE, Windows 95 ONLY Font Smoother tool from Microsoft's page. It will install a Plus! section under your Display Properties which will allow you to set an option called "Show icons using all possible colors". This option allows you to view the icons correctly. Your video must support 16-Bit color or higher in order for the Plus! section to work correctly. If you have any other version of Windows, DO NOT download and install this utility, as Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT 4, Windows 2000, and Windows XP, etc. have font smoothing built-in.

NOTE: I see no reason why these icons will not be usable on Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP.

In order to get the fullest out of my desktop theme, you will need to download a FREEWARE program called Desktop Architect. Unfortunately the Microsoft Plus! package will not identify all of the color settings, etc. that are in my theme.

After installing the Desktop Architect, I recommend opening it and saving your current desktop settings before using the FANGFACE Theme, or you may have problems restoring your original desktop. Simply select "Save As..." from the File Menu to save your current desktop settings.

WHAT'S NEW:

Fixed an issue where the preferences screen would vanish after being displayed for about 30 seconds. Fixed the banner positioning in the Preferences of the screen saver, as well as a text overlapping problem on one of the settings checkboxes.

INFO:

The FANGFACE Screen Saver does a slide show of various FANGFACE pictures from the cartoon series. It also plays the FANGFACE introduction theme, and has the ability to let you disable the theme music in case you don't want it to play. It also has a Wallpaper background image and corner FANGFACE logos, both of which can be disabled via the preferences.

NOTE: This Screen Saver has not been tested on Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP and there are reports that it is not working. I am looking into this.

If you have problems with the screen saver, tell me the problem you're having and the error, if available, and the name and version you are using. To get the screen saver version, open the Display Properties, click the Screen Saver TAB, then click the Settings... button. If you do not have the most recent version, I recommend uninstalling your version and installing the newest version available. Click here to send your reports to me.
